Its slowly getting lighter

Wrap up warm as temperatures across Britain are set to plummet to as low as minus 10C this week
Its February to morrow-a shorter month of 28 days or is it 29 days-not sure ? I have just checked its 29 days.

The nights are getting longer and sunset time to night is 16:47 pm

Didgital Thermometer

The above pictures show the thermometer i bought for the allotment to check the temp of my cold frame, it shows the temp, max temp and min temp  its solar powered so no battery's needed.

Fertilizer and trains

Gave the allotment a miss to day-went in town to buy potato fertiliser and 48 peat pots  to sow beans and lettuce from pound land, on the way home i called in on the railway station to film the trains coming in. Since i was young i have all ways had a fascination for railways and steam engines

Rain and more Rain !!

On Thursday i decided to go to the Allotment for a look around and see if everything was as it should be - this was my first visit since Boxing day 2011-  one or two nets and canes blown around the allotment by the high winds that we had recently  but it was  otherwise o/k - so  nothing drastic has happened but i got stuck in the mud a few times on the path leading up to the plots.

Turned out nice again !!

Seed Potatos at Poundland

Went in town to the £ shop- onion sets-shallots seed potatoes [ swift and pentland javelin first Early's ] are on sale.In ten weeks time-middle of march-i will be planting them out along with  onion sets and shallots, then broad beans and peas plus lettuce-don't time fly.

More Wind is forecast for the U/K

More wind, not a good title for todays blog entry-but its true.
